Fundamental of hip hop dance, the slide is a game of weight transfer giving the illusion of sliding. In this quatuor, 4 dimensions, 4 reflections, 4 personalities venture onto a unusual surface, an icon of hip hop, a sliding linoleum. Shoes, hands, backs, knees, heads criss-cross the floor, shaping the movements and giving them an easiness. But the four dancers work hard on their centre and their balance to move from one state of the body to another, to slip into a new skin, to go through different emotions, to let go by skating the air, guided by the aspect of the surface. From children’s games to the horizon of their old age, through the torments of adulthood, they slide through time. Spectral or lively, playful or tumultuous, the show creates another balance, a fluid and playful choreography.
